Charity – Qhubeka
8th Apr 2016[Fund raising closed] Total funds raised = R157,460! That’s 55 bicycles for kids 🙂
We are doing the #Joburg2Kili expedition to raise funds for Qhubeka which is a charity we really believe in.
Qhubeka is World Bicycle Relief’s program in South Africa. World Bicycle Relief is a global non-profit organisation. Qhubeka helps people move forward and progress by giving bicycles in return for work done to improve communities, the environment or academic results.
Qhubeka manufacture a robust bicycle that is engineered specifically for African terrain and load requirements, which is known as a Buffalo bicycle. The bicycle is designed by World Bicycle Relief in Chicago USA and it is tested and assembled in South Africa. It is a single-speed, rigid framed bicycle that weighs approximately 22kg. As part of this #Joburg2Kili expedition, we will be riding on Buffalo Qhubeka bicycles. For more information on the Buffalo Bicycle, please visit the Qhubeka website.
To support our chosen charity, you can donate by clicking on the “Donate Now” button which will take you to GivenGain which is a secure payment portal that will pay over all donations made directly to Qhubeka. Alternatively if you would like to make a direct deposit, please contact us for further details. For any company donations, we can arrange a SARS 18-A tax certificate via Qhubeka thus making the donation amount tax deductible.
Thank you for your support!
